We Love Abilene Programs
These programs are initiatives that are directly led and operated by We Love Abilene and The Well to serve individuals and families in our congregation and community who are experiencing vulnerability or crisis. These programs allow us to walk closely with those we serve and build meaningful relationships within our church and city.
Financial Assistance
The Well believes that Jesus calls the church to aid and support those in need. Because of this, We Love Abilene aims to serve our community in a way that is loving and fair for all. We believe that this is possible through the stewardship of our finances, which are gracious gifts that we have received from our church family. We consider it a privilege to be able to serve Abilene and pray that God is glorified in all things.
Your generosity makes a difference! By donating to We Love Abilene’s Benevolence Fund, you help us provide aid to those in need within our community. Click here to give and support our mission to serve Abilene.
The Family Care Program is dedicated to supporting single parents in our community. This program partners with landlords within our church to house single parents, while providing case management and rental subsidies to help families gain financial independence, offering practical resources and spiritual mentorship. Through financial literacy education, monthly check-ins, and mentorship, we aim to meet both the material and spiritual needs of participants, empowering them to build stable, healthy lives for their families.
If you are a landlord interested in partnering with this program or would like to volunteer to mentor and support single parents in our community, we'd love to hear from you. Email us at wla@thewellabilene.com.

Family Care Program
Our team has created an Amazon wishlist of practical necessities that are donated at each of our baby showers. We invite you to partner with us by selecting items from our wishlist and making a difference in the lives of these families.
We’re always looking for volunteers to help shower, celebrate, and support moms in our community. Baby showers typically take place on Sundays at 2:00 PM, and we ask volunteers to arrive by 1:00 PM and stay for the duration of the event. Please fill out this form for more information.
Teen Mom Baby Showers
Each month, We Love Abilene volunteers come together with local teen mothers and their babies, offering love, support, and encouragement. Our mission is to provide practical resources while also offering emotional and spiritual care from within our church community.
If you are or know a mother who needs support, please fill out this form. An application is required. Mothers must be 18 or under.
We Love Abilene Prayer Teams
We Love Abilene provides financial assistance to families and individuals experiencing crisis in our community. As part of our intake process, we offer the opportunity to take prayer requests as many are walking through difficult situations. Join us as we pray over these requests and offer notes of encouragement to our neighbors!
The Men's Prayer Team meets at Front Porch (N 2nd St) at 6:30 AM on the second Thursday of every month.
The Women's Prayer Team meets on the second Sunday of every month during The Well’s 9:40 AM service.

Foster Care and Adoption Ministry
We Love Abilene offers a support group for foster, kinship, and adoptive parents each month. This time of fellowship includes encouraging one another, praying over unique needs, and sharing applicable resources. Childcare is available through The Well’s Kids Ministry. We also offer a support group for biological siblings of foster and adoptive families during the parental support group. The goal of this group is to provide a safe space of community for siblings to process and navigate the complexities of the foster care and adoption systems within their home.
In addition to these groups, Wraparound Teams offer support to foster families by providing practical, emotional, and spiritual care. Church members come alongside foster parents with help such as childcare, meals, prayer, and encouragement. This network of support ensures foster families have the resources they need to thrive, while fostering a community of care and love for the children in their care.
